The exhibition presents the extensive archives from Kubrick's private collection and studio to walk through 50 years of the iconic movie director's career. Featured are some 1,000 photographs, shooting schedules, scripts, letters, props, costumes, and cameras used by the director during his lifetime of film production.

The retrospective exhibition of the world-renown film director, Stanley Kubrick 

In close collaboration with Deutsches Filminstitut, Seoul Museum of Art, and Hyundai Card, the retrospective of Stanley Kubrick, Hyundai Card Culture Project 19 - Stanley Kubrick was put together to shed light on the film director's whole cinematic career and personal life.  

To match the perfectionist that is Stanley Kubrick, this large-scale presentation has carefully put together over 1000 exhibits to show the life and career of Kubrick.
Exhibition Content 
  • Section 1. Birth of Director
Before Kubrick became the director, he used to devote himself to photography and was admired for his keen eyes and perceptions reflected through the lens. Along with three film documentaries, Kubrick's early works are introduced including his first full-length feature, Fear and Desire
 
  • Section 2. Kubrick Odyssey 
Regardless of the theme or genre, Stanley Kubrick established his own style with every film he produced and archived a marvelous cinematic career. 
 
  • Section 3. Kubrick's Never Ending Story
This section provides the sources in which Stanley Kubrick was influenced by and three unrealized films and never before seen pieces are introduced. Also on display is Kubrick's wife, Christianne Kubrick's drawings of the perfectionist's daily life showing a more personal side of the late director. In addition, the marvelous audiovisual effects that Kubrick utilized in his films and a separate room is provided for these resources.
